4th April High Impact Fantastic Forces

Fantastic Forces
1. What are Forces? Give a definition
-Forces is a moral strength, power or mental. Force is a push or pull upon an object resulting from the objects interaction with another object.

2. Why are forces important? Give 2 to 3 examples
-Forces and motion are one of the most important things in our lives, forces and motion make things move and stay still.
A boy pulling a toy train (The boy is interacting with the object while applying a force to it) Weight is another example of forces. Weight is the force of gravity.

3. Put heading planes?
-PLANES
4. What forces are acting on a plane when it is flying? picture
- Which force acts to show a plane down?
Drag- is the force that acts opposite to the direction of motion. Drag is caused by friction and differences in air pressure

- Which forces gives speed?
Lift- is the force that acts at a right angle to the direction of motion through the air. Lift is created by differences in air pressure.

- What do the other forces do?
Weight is the force of gravity. It acts in a downward direction toward the centre of the Earth
Thrust is the force that propels a flying machine in the direction of motion. Engines produce thrust.

5. Heading "paper planes".
PAPER PLANE

- These have a long history. Give an outline of history- first known type of paper
The origin of folded paper gliders is generally considered to be of Ancient China, although there is equal evidence that the refinement and development of folded gliders took place in equal measure in Japan. Certainly, manufacture of paper on a widespread scale took place in China 500 BCE, and origami and paper folding became popular within a century of this period, approximately 460-390 BCE.
